Summer, what summer? Well despite everyone moaning about the soggy summer we have had, it hasn’t stopped these lovely couples having the most fabulous weddings.
Simone and Heath enjoyed a windy but sunny day with 40 friends and family here at ‘Casabella’, my country home in Kumeu
Simone’s two bridesmaids were her beautiful daughters Renee and Danielle.
Deb and Rob, with Deb’s daughter Chloe as bridesmaid, had a beautiful garden wedding at lovely Willows reach in Kumeu.
Sharon ad Glen looked like royalty (and I’m sure felt like royalty too) at the Balinese inspired tropical Paradise that is Landsendt.
The sun came out in time for a Justine and Scott’s photos at Settlers Country Manor in Waimauku
Debbie and Sue had an intimate and special Civil Union with their children, here at my home ‘Casabella’
Debbie, Sue and their 4 children, chose a colour each for their ‘Blending of the Sands’ ceremony – with remarkable effect.
Richard and Erin shared their big day with their guests in the tropical oasis that is ‘Landsendt’
Steve and Sonya travelled from Australia to share their special day with friends and family at The Boathouse, part of the newly refurbished Riverhead Tavern.
Tim and Alana had a magical day full of love and laughter at gorgeous Landsendt. Even though it was my 3rd wedding there in just over a month, each wedding was unique
Tim and Alana gave their wedding a warm relaxed touch by having a bouncy castle – and no it wasn’t just for the kids!
Luckily we live in Auckland, where if you don’t like the weather, you just have to wait a minute. Happily for all the couples I’ve married this summer, the sun at least came out for the photos, (even if one or two ceremonies had to go to ‘Plan B’ venue)
In Auckland you just can’t guarantee the weather, even in the middle of summer! My advice to those of you planning your big day, is to have a wet weather option, and then don’t fret if you have to use it. Just keep smiling and remind yourself of these two things: In many cultures rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, and secondly according to photographers, the lighting is much better on an overcast day for outside photos!
